Music challenges

There are several self organized timed music challenges, here are those I found:

The Song Fight! (and here) is a weekly challenge. A theme roughly each week, a song, vote at the end and here we go for another Song Fight!

The National Solo Album Month (NaSoAlMo): an equivalente to the NaNoWriMo where you have one single month (November) to record one solo album around 29:09 long (but anything you do is better than nothing done!).

The FAWM Challenge (and here on Wikipedia): the goal here is to compose 14 original musical works during the month of February. The FAWN is a quite organized community with its vocabulary where the participants (called “fawmers”) can exchange, give advices or collaborate.

The same website also welcomes the 50 Songs in 90 Days (50/90 or fiftyninety): as the name says from July 4 to October 1 you aim to compose 50 songs in 90 days.

The 50/90 is generally followed by an informal internal challenge (on the forum, no particular space) named Rocktober taken as the traditional 50/90 “after party”: during October the 50/90 participants make cover versions of song, idealy 50/90 songs. The “neccessary cleansing in order to start fresh again in february”.

The RPM Challenge (and there) invite also in February participants to write original music (not the same rules each year).

The same community welcomes the REM Challenge (Record Every Month): a challenge to record an original track each month.

To finish, here’s a list of timed artistic challenges gathered by the NaNoWriMo contributors.
